Comfort During Pet Loss
Pet Loss Grief Support
Sessions pay tribute to the life lived. We provide pet parents a safe place to grieve and mourn, where pets treated like family and options for memorialization / rituals are discussed.
Dr. Rachel acts as your support system and a helpful resource along the grief journey. Through mourning we mend – there are six central needs of mourning which will be tailored to grief and loss from a pet lover’s view.
The initial session lasts 50 minutes and will include reading material and a pet loss journal. Subsequent sessions can be tailored with respect to length and frequency.
In-home or phone consultations are available.
HELP ALONG THE JOURNEY
End-of-Life Planning
No time is long enough to share with the animals we love, or to prepare our hearts to say goodbye.
Dr. Rachel will help with the anticipatory grief which occurs before death.
This is the beginning of the journey and together you can collaborate to create the most beautiful end of life walk with ideas and planning.
Dr. Rachel can answer medical questions regarding illness, how the condition will progress and what to expect in the final days.

What People Are Saying
Letting go of our loved pets is one of the hardest days of our life; you showed great care, compassion and understanding in the toughest of times. The pain we have from losing her can only be softened in the comfort that we allowed her to go with dignity and surrounded by love. We will use you in the unfortunate circumstances that someday we are faced with this difficult decision again.”
“Dr. Bart and Christine were calm, compassionate, gentle and professional. Not only with my daughter and I, but with our sweet pug Bella.
They put us at east and walked us through one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do.
I’m sure this is not an easy job, but they provided us with comfort and peace. Dr. Bart assured me that it was time for Bella and she was now at peace.”
“A week ago today we had to say goodbye to our beloved Shelby. Shelby was a 13 year old Olde English Bulldog. This was the first time we had a vet service come out to the house.
As much as it broke mine and my husband’s hearts we had to euthanize our Shelby girl due to a heart tumor.
Dr. Rachel Bart and her assistant were truly amazing due to the unfortunate circumstances. They were considerate and made sure the process was at the comfort of our own pace. God bless their hearts to help pet parents ease this process as much as they can. Shelby is resting in peace with their help.
We thank you from the deepest part of our hearts for helping our baby lay to rest. She is gone but never forgotten. Love you, Shelby girl today, tomorrow, and forever.”
“We’ve known Dr. Rachel Bart for 15 years and unfortunately during that time, we have had to euthanize several pets.
It is never an easy decision and I have been so thankful that Dr. Rachel was with us every step of the way.
She has always been kind and compassionate to us and most importantly, she made sure our pets were comfortable with a peaceful transition.
Each time we lose a pet, they take a piece of our hearts with them, but Dr. Rachel guided us through this difficult time.”
“Wrigley, our Cairn Terrier, was a cherished member of our family for over 14 years.
When Dr. Rachel discovered that he was suffering from end-stage diabetes, her thoughtfulness and compassion was so greatly appreciated. She helped us through one of the toughest times we’ve ever experienced and was there for us as we were able to peacefully say goodbye to our sweet boy.”
When I had to make that decision to say goodbye I used Angel Vet. Dr Bart and her assistant showed up and were so sweet and kind. They moved at my speed and gave me and my other dog all the time we needed for our closure.
My boy Enzo was not scared or stressed out, he passed away in my arms, nose to nose. I highly suggest researching what a vet hospital charges to euthanize compared to everything you get by opting to do it at home. I will always use at home euthanasia and I will forever use Angel Vet. I highly recommend them. They are extremely professional and empathetic.
Thank you, Dr Bart for showing the utmost care and compassion to my boy Enzo.”
Thank you so very much for being able to make Seeks’ journey smooth and peaceful. You also helped us with our pain. We will miss that little devil but she is in the best place any of us can ever be.”
Thank you for talking me through it and allowing the process to move at my pace. I never felt rushed. You put me at at ease and treated my baby like the queen that she was until the end. You released my baby of her suffering in such a peaceful way and for that I’m forever grateful.”
“Fifteen years sounds like a long time, but it wasn’t nearly long enough with our sweet girl, Sedona.
She was there to help me raise 5 kids into animal-loving adults and train other dogs that came through our home. She lived such an amazing life, but the years caught up to her and it was time to let her go ‘home’.
Dr. Bart came at night to help us through this agonizing decision. All of my kids were there with us while Sedona slipped into sleep and earned her wings. The doctor and her assistant were so kind and compassionate, while also explaining each step to us as she went.
Thank you for what you do for these furry family members and for allowing them to go in peace in their own home.”
“Dr. Bart is a phenomenal vet and also a dear friend.
When our family’s beloved black lab was diagnosed with an incredibly painful form of cancer we knew we didn’t have much time left with him.
Dr. Bart was there for me every step of the way, trying to ease both his pain and my grief of what we both knew was a very tough decision.
I finally made the decision to put him down when it had become too painful for him to walk.
To add to the situation, we had to schedule his euthanasia the day after Christmas, when my kids were out of town with their father. It was just she and I and Charlie and without her I would never have been able to get through the process.
Charlie felt comforted by her presence too, as she had been with us through this whole unfortunate journey. Her calm demeanor and gentle nature helped him pass peacefully and she was there to pick me up off the floor when it was over.
Making the decision to end a beloved pet’s life is excruciating and can even be debilitating.
I am so thankful that Dr. Bart was there to help me and my family through the entire experience.
Her services are a gift.”
“Dr. Bart and the nurse that came out were so incredibly compassionate and made the passing of my best friend Clark much easier. They let me have my moments with him, explained everything that was happening, and then let me carry him to the car after he was free. The paw print they took of him will be such a beautiful keepsake… Thank you guys so much.”
“I am so thankful to Dr. Bart! To say goodbye to my best friend was the hardest thing I’ve had to do.
To have Dr. Bart come to the house and take care of my special Ra Ra was more than I could’ve asked for. I was an absolute crying mess and she allowed me the time to spend the last minutes with my girl and they took such gentle care of her.
They are compassionate and caring people. If I could give them 100 stars, I would!”
“Thank you to Dr.Bart and her assistant. We knew the day would come for our sweet baby boy. As painful as it was for us , he was most likely feeling more pain, and we knew it was time. This was the most beautiful, caring, and loving decision and peaceful for our sweet Kingston.
Dr. Bart and her assistant were very professional and kind, explaining everything to us. They gave us the opportunity to carry our sweet boy out and to see him off in their vehicle.
Our heart now has a void, but with the kind, caring, compassionate services provided from Dr. Bart, made the tough day slightly easier. Thank you so much.”
“Thank you ladies! Dr. Rachel and her assistant came to our home. They are truly Angels. So sweet to me and my baby, understanding, kind and empathetic to the pain you are feeling. Reassuring you that you are doing what is best for your pet.
I didn’t want to say goodbye. I wanted more years with my beloved Marshmellow. But, that’s the hardest part of having these little angels to unconditionally love us. We have to be brave enough to say goodbye when they are ready to go.
Thank you from the bottom of my broken little heart, for being able to provide such a needed service. It was a blessing having you help my baby over the rainbow.
We truly appreciated your kindness and professionalism.”
